Virtual Event Announcement! Library of Congress “Made at the Library” Book Talk, Nov. 12, 2024

The Manuscript Division of the Library of Congress has invited me to do a virtual book talk on Tuesday November 12 at 12 noon ET as part of their “Made at the Library” series. “Made at the Library” is an event series that highlights works inspired by and emerging from research at the Library of Congress. It features authors, artists, and other creators in conversation with Library experts and takes a deep dive into the process of working with Library’s collections.

During my “Made at the Library” event, I will discuss my book, Forgotten Veterans, Invisible Memorials: How American Women Commemorated the Great War, 1917-1945, with Manuscript Division historians Elizabeth A. Novara and Sherri Sheu. I will highlight the many Library of Congress collections I used in my research while exploring new perspectives on women’s activism and service during and after World War I. The discussion will demonstrate how researchers search for and discover relevant materials at the Library of Congress on women’s, veterans’, and military history.

This virtual event is free and open to the public!
