USCIS and the Legacy of Ellis Island (Documentary Film, 2018)

As a historian at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) History Office and Library, Dr. Finkelstein helped lead the team that created and produced the award-winning documentary film “USCIS and the Legacy of Ellis Island” in 2018. This original film tells the story of Ellis Island from the perspective of the federal employees who worked there.

This film won the Society for History in the Federal Government’s (SHFG) Excellence in New Media Award and the 2018 USCIS Director’s Award “Torch Award” for the documentary film team. Dr. Finkelstein received the USCIS Records Division Associate Director’s Award for her role in the project.
